Part 1: Record The 3-Point Start
Wrong camera setup gives wrong coaching. Keep this simple and repeatable.
- 1. Side-view, landscape: record from the side at 90 degrees to the lane, phone horizontal, full body in frame.
- 2. Steady camera: use a tripod. Handheld shake makes event timing and angle values unreliable.
- 3. Camera settings: minimum 60 fps at 1080p. Higher frame rates help only if lighting stays clean.
- 4. Bright lighting: athlete and turf markings should stay sharp in every frame.
- 5. Start in set: begin recording once the athlete is fully set in the 3-point stance, then execute one clear start.
Keep the camera location and stance side consistent between sessions, otherwise trend comparisons are not worth much.
